Congratulations to the TKHS Jazz Band on their 1^st Division rating at the MSBOA Jazz Festival held at Lowell High School on Thursday, March 20.  Great job!

Congratulations to our Special Olympics basketball team as they won the gold medal at the state tournament this past weekend.  Awesome work!

Congratulations to Mike Gray for earning a bronze medal in the Insurance Concepts contest at the State Business Professionals of America competition this past weekend.  Great job!

Other students who competed were Alyson Cooper, Yahaira Navarro, Emily Reed, and Kristen Sneller.  All these students were awesome representatives of TKHS!

Thornapple Kellogg High School was well represented at the State Solo & Ensemble competition in Portage Saturday.  Freshmen Dominic Bierenga and senior Olivia Nieder both earned 1st Division ratings.  Please extend congratulations to them on their outstanding performances.

Congratulations to the TKHS Science Olympiad Team who placed 4th in Saturday’s Regional Competition.  Each member of the team either medaled or ribboned in at least one event–a first for TKHS!  Please say “congrats” to any of the team members when you see them!  Great job!!

The Region 4 Odyssey of the Mind Tournament was on Saturday, March 15.  Fifteen teams from Thornapple Kellogg Schools competed.  Of the ten teams that could qualify for state competition, seven made it.  Both high school teams qualified for state competition on April 19 at East Kentwood High School.

 Congratulations to all TK student competitors and coaches!

TKHS was represented well at the individual state wrestling finals last weekend by Michael Craven and Kyle Dalton.  Mike won his first math and lost the next two and finished in the top 12 in the state at 103 pounds.  Kyle Dalton made it all the way to the finals at 125 pounds before being defeated.  Kyle finished second in the state.

The Thornapple Kellogg Honors Choir has been working hard since January to perfect two songs for the District Choral Festival.  All of their work paid off February 27 when they received a first division rating, qualifying them for the State Festival this May.  At the Regional competition, the choir preformed “Dirait-on” and “All My Trails” featuring a duet of Grace Welton and Melissa Beard.
